The collection consists of a typescript summary of U.S. geologist, G. W. Featherstonaugh's trip from July 19 to August 17, 1835 taken from his A Canoe Voyage up the Minnay Sotor, London, 1847. The summary, compiled by James M. Puckett in 1965, details Featherstonaugh's voyage from Decatur, Alabama along the Tennessee River and to Cherokee country.
